The Dunn Middle School Counseling Department is here to work with our students, families and school staff in order to meet the social, emotional, academic, and college and career needs of the students we serve.  Following the American School Counselor Association National Model and the North Carolina Guidance Essential Standards, we work to help students set and meet goals in order to have an optimal middle school experience.  Our DMS Counseling Department is here to ensure that every student has the support they need for a wonderful school year! 

School Counseling Mission 

The mission of the Harnett County Middle School Counseling Program is to advocate for, collaborate with, facilitate for, and motivate all students by using data to consistently evaluate the effectiveness of the comprehensive school counseling program so that appropriate services are available to promote the success of all students in the development of their academic, career, personal, and social skills.  School counselors team with parents, teachers, and the community while adhering to the ethical standards of the American School Counselor Association.
